AKRON, Ohio -- An 18-year-old Barberton man is in custody for allegedly causing the fire at the Cornus Hill Firestone mansion in Fairlawn.
Authorities say Donavin Gowin turned himself in to the Akron Municipal Court at 8:30 a.m. Thursday. He faces one count of arson.
Three juveniles have also been charged with criminal trespass, but investigators say they are not connected with setting the fire.
The mansion in the 2500 block of Chamberlain Road went up in flames on Jan. 13.
Officials said one-third of the home was completely destroyed. The home has been vacant for the last five or six years.
