AKRON -- The winter chill is chomping down harder than a grizzly bear's bite.

That's why the Akron Zoo has closed its gates Monday and Tuesday.

As long as weather conditions are favorable, the zoo will reopen Wednesday at 11 a.m.

Staff is at the zoo caring for the animals, several of which will be kept indoors through Tuesday.

Typically, the Akron Zoo is open 361 days a year. Winter hours are 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.
