BEREA, Ohio -- The Berea Recreation Center has reopened Monday afternoon after it was evacuated Monday morning because of a sodium hypochlorite leak, not chlorine as previously thought.

However, the pool remains closed. Rec Center members may use the pool at the Brook Park Recreation Center until the Berea pool reopens, according to Berea officials.

A City Hall official says the leak at the Front Street building was caused by an air bubble in the line.

No injuries were reported and nobody was taken to the hospital.

Berea fire, police and HAZMAT teams were at the scene investigating.
