Cleveland Cavaliers' Jr. Reporters visit WKYC

The five Jr. reporters spent the day touring the WKYC studios.

CLEVELAND -- The future of sports media was at WKYC last week when the Cleveland Cavaliers' Kids Club Jr Reporters visited the station's studios.

The Cavs' Jr. reporters, who range between ages 7 and 11, spent the day touring the WKYC studios, meeting with on-air talent and interviewing members of the digital team. The youngsters became Cavs' Jr. reporters by submitting one-minute videos explaining why they were best suited to do the job -- which has included interviewing Cavs players at the team's annual media day -- before interviewing Ahmaad at the Q Arena.

The current Cavs' Jr. reporters are as follows:

  • Erin James (Age 11)
  • Tre' Jones (11)
  • Jack Speth (9)
  • Geo Kerechanin (7)
  • Izzy Fernandez (10)

All five Cavs Jr. Reporters are members of the official Cavs Kids Club, which is an extension of Wine & Gold Nation, the official fan club of the team. For more information on the Cavs Kids Club and Wine & Gold United, check out its official website.
