Cleveland Mayor Frank Jackson has officially denounced the move by the Trump Administration to pull out of the Paris Climate Accord.

In a statement posted on the city's Facebook site, Jackson affirmed that Cleveland will move forward with its "Sustainable Cleveland" initiative. The 10-year initiative's mission is for the community to work together to design and develop a thriving and resilient Cleveland that leverages its wealth of assets to build economic, social and environmental well-being for all.

Cleveland City Council plans to introduce and vote on a resolution Monday, supporting the Paris Climate Accord as well as urging Jackson to join the “Climate Mayors,” the Mayors National Climate Action Agenda. More than 80 mayors nationwide have signed the agreement as of Friday.
