Cleveland police investigating two Monday night homicides

Nothing is known about possible suspects at this time.

Authorities in Cleveland are investigating two separate homicides that took place Monday night.

The first incident took place around 8:10 p.m. in the southeast part of the city. Witnesses told police 39-year-old Douglas Clements was parked in the driveway of a Dove Ave. home when someone in an SUV (possibly a jeep) drove up and began firing at the car. Clements was shot in the chest, and later died at MetroHealth Medical Center.

Just 25 minutes later, a second homicide took place further north on E 123rd St. According to police, a 24-year-old man was standing with a group of people when someone began firing at them from a tan sedan. Officers later found the victim unresponsive with a gunshot wound to his stomach. He also died from his injuries at Metro, and was later identified as Antwon Bailey by the county medical examiner.

No information has been given on possible suspects. Anyone with information is asked to call Cleveland police.
