Police say they were fired at tonight as they chased suspects.

The police chase ended in a crash Friday evening after a robbery at gunpoint.

The case spans all five police districts, starting on the west side and ending on the east side.

Around 7 pm, someone was car jacked at gunpoint in the 3800 block of West 135th Street.

Fast forward an hour and 15 minutes later -- police find the vehicle around East 92nd Street and Superior Avenue and chase it.

The vehicle crashed at East 115th Street and Carolina Road, police say.

Two suspects got out and ran. That's when police say one of them fired a shot, they think at officers.

At 9 p.m., WKYC Channel 3 News shows up and sees officers searching with police dogs.

Police told WKYC'S Hilary Golston they were looking for the suspects and evidence.

Around 10:50 p.m., police towed a red truck from the scene on Carolina.
