Deadly shooting in Cleveland shuts down portion of Euclid Avenue

Police say one man was killed in the incident, which happened at the corner of Green Road and Euclid Avenue.

CLEVELAND -- Investigators closed a portion of Euclid Avenue on Cleveland’s east side early Tuesday morning after a deadly shooting.

Police say a 41-year-old man was shot in the back multiple times at the corner of Euclid and Green. When officers arrived, two women were administering first aid. They claimed they had been driving when they ran over what they thought was a bag in the road, until they say the victim lying on the ground.

The victim was taken to UH Cleveland Medical Center, where he later died. His name has not yet been released.

Residents told investigators they heard shots fired and saw a Ford Focus roll down the street and strike a pole. The vehicle was later spotted at the scene with several bullet holes.
