CLEVELAND -- A man shot himself in the groin during a robbery attempt outside a Marathon gas station early Monday morning, according to police.

The situation happened at E. 55th and Woodland.

Police say a man approached a vehicle and attempted to rob the people inside. When he allegedly tried to pull a gun from his waistband, it got stuck and fired.

The suspect was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center.

Authorities say he will face charges.

The incident remains under investigation.

This marks the second shooting at this gas station within the last two weeks.
