U.S. Marshals arrest man accused of fatally shooting girlfriend in Cleveland

His girlfriend was fatally shot in the neck in her home on Emery Ave. earlier this week.

The man accused of killing his live-in girlfriend on Cleveland's west side Tuesday afternoon has been arrested, U.S. Marshals confirmed Friday.

Lowell Harris, 62, was taken into custody on the 26300 block of Royalton Road in Columbia Station by the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force. His girlfriend, 57-year-old Holly Watkins, was fatally shot in the neck in her home on Emery Ave.

Authorities say personal items belonging to Watkins were found in Harris' coat pocket at the time of his arrest.

“Due to the persistence and determination of our task force, we were able to track down his whereabouts which lead to a safe apprehension of this dangerous fugitive," United States Marshal for the Northern District of Ohio Peter J. Elliott said in a statement.
