Cleveland Metroparks Zoo celebrates Noon Year's Eve

Happy Noon Year! No need to wait until midnight to celebrate.

If midnight is just a little too late to stay up and celebrate, Cleveland Metroparks Zoo is offering an earlier and more family-friendly alternative to the usual New Year's Eve festivities.

Right along with the usual year-round animals attractions, zoo guests can attend a dance party with roaming characters, watch stilt walkers perform and take part in a special countdown to noon, for those who couldn't stay up until midnight.

WKYC streamed a portion of the event on Facebook Live:

They will also get the chance to vote for the names of the zoo's three new otter pups.

Guests can vote on their favorite names inside The RainForest exhibit by donating a dollar, which will go to benefit wildlife conservation efforts.

The event runs from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and is included in the price of admission to the zoo. Children under 2 are free.
