Lakewood City Council passed a resolution in support of the county's proposed 10 cent bag increase Monday evening.
Council President Sam O'Leary and council member at-large Tristan Rader introduced a resolution, approved 6-1, that supports Cuyahoga County Council's proposed plastic bag fee, a 10 cent fee for disposable plastic bags.
The resolution stated that the initiative is in the "best interest of our environment and Lakewood citizens’ long-term health and wellbeing.
In October, Cuyahoga County Council introduced proposal to require stores, 7,000 square feet or larger, to charge 10 cents for each plastic bag.
