The body found under the West 25th Street bridge last weekend, may be a North Olmsted resident.

Monday, the North Olmsted Police Department was contacted by investigators from the Cleveland Police Department. While officials do not believe the cause of death to be natural, they do think the body is that of a North Olmsted male.

Detectives from the North Olmsted Police Department began their investigation into finding the identity of the man, but discovered that another North Olmsted resident may have caused the death.

The suspect was being interviewed late Monday evening. As of 11:30 p.m., no charges had been filed.

Police said the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner has the body and will determine the cause of death. The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation is assisting.

Police said that a passerby found the body about 1:45 p.m. Saturday.

It was not on property belonging to the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo and not in any way connected to the Cleveland Metroparks nor the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo, police said..

The property where the body was found is owned by CSX.

Late Saturday, the Cleveland Metroparks released a statement:

"The Cleveland Police Department is investigating an incident that occurred under the West 25th Street Bridge. This incident is not connected with Cleveland Metroparks Zoo in any way. The investigation should not affect traffic into or out of the Zoo in any way. All events scheduled for this weekend, including Boo at the Zoo, will proceed as planned."
