The Parma teenager who went missing last month and was later found in Massachusetts appeared in court Friday, where she denied charges of inducing panic.
Katarina Bitterman, 17, was reported missing by her family in early March. Parma Police spent days searching for her and eventually located her in Salem, Massachusetts with a 19-year-old man. The two met online and Bitterman left home willingly, traveling to Massachusetts with the 19-year-old's mother.
The mother and son, identified as Renee Hanson, 43, and Michael Julien, 19, were indicted on charges of inducing panic, interfering with custody and obstructing justice.
Bitterman was released to the custody of her parents.
