Pinecrest Project making progress in Orange Village; businesses starting to hire

The project, which started with dirt and a wall near the I-271 Harvard exit has now blossomed into so much more.

We've been keeping a watchful eye on the Pinecrest Project in Orange Village for the past couple of years. The project, which started with dirt and a wall near the I-271 Harvard exit has now blossomed into so much more.

Chief Investment Officer Chris Salata showed us the plans at the time.

"We have mixed use buildings that will contain about 90 luxury high end apartments above this first building," he said, pointing to diagrams. "A 150 room boutique hotel above this building."

Tenants include Red, the steakhouse; Whole Food Markets, and one of the big names coming to town: REI, which specialized in outdoor equipment and clothing for enthusiasts of backpacking to cycling to everything in-between.

They're already seeking employees with that same passion: There are positions available in sales, operations, shipping and receiving, and even bicycle technicians.

Another store already looking for employees is Club Pilates, which has already begun posting jobs. The best way to land a job at any of these new places is to put your name in early, especially since these are retailers which don't have many locations in Ohio.

"Cleveland''s hot again," Salata said. "For whatever reason, Cleveland was on the 'No' list for some of these retailers in the past."

Stores are slated to start opening up this spring, with each having its own grand opening date. However, the time to apply for jobs is now.
