CLEVELAND -- A Cleveland man was shot early Monday after he returned to the scene where he was robbed with a baseball bat, according to police.

The 24-year-old man was shot in the area of the 3300 block of East 132nd Street about 5 a.m.

Police say he was robbed of his cell phone about 4:45 a.m. After being robbed, he went to his home, told family members he had been robbed, left his home with a baseball bat and returned to the area.

A few moments later, neighbors and relatives reported hearing a shot.

First responders took the man to MetroHealth Medical Center. His condition was not immediately available.

The victim was unable to provide any suspect information due to his condition, police said.
