Several residents in Geauga County's Munson Township have notified WKYC Channel 3 that they are without gas on Friday evening.
The service provider in that area is Orwell Natural Gas Company.
According to the company's website:
During a federally mandated inspection, we found a valve to be inoperable. This unfortunately required an immediate shut down of the line and has affected your gas service. We are making immediate repairs and expect to have gas service restored in the next few hours. We will shut off every customer, re-pressurize the line and restore service to each meter. We do apologize for any inconvenience this may be causing. We are making every attempt to have service restored to those affected as quickly as possible. In order to restore your service, a representative will have to have access to your home to relight and perform a safety check on all gas appliances. We appreciate your patience while we bring employees from other parts of the state to help with the re-light process.
When we spoke with Orwell, we were told that they have no idea when gas will be restored.
