Crews in Lake County prep for potential flooding risks as warmer temperatures approach

As temperatures warm up, potential flooding risks increase.

After days of frigid temperatures, warmer temperature are on the way.

But the warmer temperatures also bring with it potential flooding risks.

Fire crews in Eastlake are prepared, making sure they're ready for every possible situation.

Each member of the department goes through ice and water rescue water training.

Rescuers say a person in icy water has roughly ten minutes before hypothermia begins.

That short window leaves no room for error, making training even more critical.

Officials are hoping, that while they're prepared, they never have to use the training.

"We're hoping that people stay off the ice. Because you can never trust ice 100%. "
