A man is being held without bond at the Lorain County Jail after robbing a bank in Elyria on Monday morning.
Police say Aaron Kudlo, 26, robbed the First Merit Bank on Abbe Road just before 10:00 a.m. A security officer at the bank gave officers a description of Kudlo, plus the license plate number of his car.
A short time later, employees at Elyria Plating on Olive Street called police reporting that a suspicious man was in their parking lot and was changing his clothes.
Officers arrived and saw Kudlo fleeing the area on foot. They caught up with him at Dale's Market and Deli on Cleveland Street. They saw evidence of the robbery on Kudlo and in his car.
Kudlo has also been linked to another robbery at the same First Merit Bank that took place last week.
Elyria police detectives received additional information that Kudlo intended to rob additional banks in the area.
Kudlo has been charged with two felony counts of robbery and one felony count of possession of criminal tools. In addition, he faces one misdemeanor charge of obstructing justice.
