List: Where you can get a free Thanksgiving meal in Northeast Ohio

Several organizations in Northeast Ohio are providing meals free of charge.

CLEVELAND — With Thanksgiving just around the corner, we've put together a guide to help those in need have a hot meal for the holiday. Several organizations are providing meals free of charge. Here's our list: 

Greater Cleveland Food Bank

The Greater Cleveland Food Bank and over 1,000 partner agencies are teaming up to fight hunger during the holiday season. Throughout the holiday season, the Greater Cleveland Food Bank will have “Holiday Hot Meal Sites” for those suffering this holiday season.

Individuals and families who are in need of food assistance at this time can reach out to the Greater Cleveland Food Bank’s Help Center at (216)- 738-2067 or visit their website.

The following list features the Greater Cleveland Food Bank's hot meal sites across the Northeast Ohio region:

  • 11/20, 11/27 – Church of St. Rita, 11901 Oakfield Ave. Serving grab and go/drive through lunch from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
  • 11/20-28 – Jake Mulhall Center, 4395 Rocky River Dr. Serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner at 7 a.m., 12 p.m., and 4:30 p.m.
  • 11/20 – MANNA Food From Heaven, 18909 South Miles Rd., Cleveland. Serving grab and go dinner from 12 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
  • 11/20 – New Freedom Ministries, 3476 E 152nd St., Cleveland. Serving breakfast and dinner at 5 p.m.
  • 11/20, 11/22-24, 11/27 – West Side Catholic Center, 3135 Lorain Ave., Cleveland. Serving grab and go/drive through breakfast, lunch, and dinner. On 11/20 and 11/27: 9 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. On 11/22-24: 9 a.m. and 12 p.m.
  • 11/20-28 – St. Herman’s Orthodox House of Hospitality, 4410 Franklin Blvd., Cleveland. Serving lunch and dinner at 11:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.
  • 11/21, 11/28 – Trinity Cathedral, 2230 Euclid Ave., Cleveland. Serving lunch every Sunday at 12 p.m. Thanksgiving lunch will be served 11/28.
  • 11/22-24 – Euclid Senior Programs, 1 Bliss Lane, Euclid. Serving lunch at 12:30 p.m.
  • 11/23 – The Salvation Army, 1507 Doan Ave. E., Cleveland. Serving lunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • 11/23 – Warrensville Rd. Community Baptist Church, 5045 Warrensville Center Rd. Serving grab and go/drive through dinner from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
  • 11/23 – Lakewood United Methodist Church, 15700 Detroit Rd., Lakewood. Serving grab and go/drive through dinner at 5:30 p.m.
  • 11/23 – Life Exchange Center, 13407 Kinsman Rd., Cleveland. Serving breakfast and lunch at 12:30 p.m.
  • 11/24 – Faith Community Center, 2355 E 55th Street. Serving lunch from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m.
  • 11/24 – Karpos, 242 N State St., Painesville. Serving dinner at 5 p.m.
  • 11/24 – St. Edward High School, 13500 Detroit Ave, Lakewood. Serving dinner from 5 p.m. to 6:15 p.m.
  • 11/24 – St. Philip Neri, 799 E 82nd St., Cleveland. Serving grab and go/drive through lunch from 11:30 p.m. to 12:30 p.m.
  • 11/25 – Imani Church, 1505 E 260th Street. Serving grab and go/drive through dinner from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m.
  • 11/25 – St. Boniface Church, 3555 W 54th Street, Cleveland. Serving grab and go/drive through dinner from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
  • 11/25 – Rise in Love, 66 Adalbert St., Berea. Serving dinner from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
  • 11/25 – Calvary Presbyterian Church, 2020 East 79th. 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. Sit down or carry out meals available.
  • 11/27 – Claugue Road United Church of Christ, 3650 Claugue Rd, North Olmsted. Serving grab and go/drive through dinner from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.
  • 11/28 – St. Albert the Great, 6667 Wallings Rd., North Royalton. Serving dinner and a bag of groceries from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.

St. Augustine Hunger Center

The St. Augustine Hunger Center will hold its Thanksgiving Hot Meals event on Thursday, November 25 at the St. Augustine Hunger Center on 1400 Howard Ave. in Cleveland from 10:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.

Also, Catholic Charities, Diocese of Cleveland will have free Thanksgiving meals available to all who need them. Volunteer drivers will deliver the dinners on Thanksgiving Day. Meals should arrive between about 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.

Those requesting a meal should call 216-377-3725 and leave a message, including their name, phone number, full address and the number of meals needed.

TownHall

On Tuesday, November 23, TownHall in Ohio City will host its 9th annual Feed the Need event from 11 a.m.- 5 p.m. Browns QB Baker Mayfield and his wife Emily will be among the special guests serving nearly 4,000 free turkey dinners to families in need. 

The Hope Exchange

The Hope Exchange will present its 2nd annual Turkey Dinner Giveaway on Saturday, November 20. The goal to distribute 1,500 meal kits across greater Cleveland. Families will receive: 12lb Frozen turkey, Mashed potatoes, Canned green beans, Canned corn, Canned cranberry sauce, Stuffing, Gravy packet, and Cornbread mix.

The giveaway will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the following locations:

  • Cleveland Clark-Fulton Area - Lincoln Park Academy-Lower Campus 3185 w. 41st, Cleveland
  • Fairview Park Area - Journey Church: 21220 Lorain Rd.
  • Lorain County Area - Avon Journey Church: 995 Center Rd. in Avon.
