The tide was high and this sloth hung on. Then, a Cincinnati couple saved him.

What a rescue!

From first glance, it appeared Dirk and Lori Morgan were the only ones on the beach after high tide chased everything away Monday in Costa Rica.

As the co-owners of Morgan's Canoe & Outdoor Adventures in Oregonia and Morgan's Jungle Lodge on Costa Rica's Osa Peninsula made their way down the beach, however, they found out they were not alone.

According to a Monday Facebook post, the Morgans happened upon a young, two-toed sloth among the many rocks along the empty beach.

In what could be considered a real-life Paragons lyric, the couple said it appeared the slow mover, which is typically found in the trees, held onto the rock during high tide.

With no adult in sight, the Morgans wiped the salt water from the sloth's face and carefully it scooped up and placed it inside a box with a towel to keep it warm.

The couple then brought the sloth to an area animal rescue, where the animal seemed to be "fine and happy to be dried off and safe," according to the post.

Two-toed sloths, like the one the Morgans found, and three-toed sloths are typically found in the forests of Central and South America.
