The Heights Interfaith Network held community interfaith prayer vigil in memory of Sunny Ravi Patel Sunday afternoon at the top of the Cain Park sledding hill on South Taylor Road.

Patel, 15, was fatally shot Oct. 14 during a robbery while working at his family's business, the Mr. Hero Restaurant on South Taylor Road.

At the vigil, one of Sunny's aunts told WKYC that $36,000 has been donated to the family from 1,000 different people for funeral services for Sunny. The family tells WKYC it can afford to pay for his funeral themselves so they are now finding a way to reinvest the money back into the community in Sunny's name.

Sunny was a sophomore at Mayfield High School and the school remembered him Friday night.

A Cleveland Heights man was arrested and charged with Sunny's murder.
