2 arrested for selling fatal dose of drugs to Stark County woman

Both are charged with involuntary manslaughter.

The Stark County Sheriff's Office has announced the arrest of two women in connection with a fatal overdose that took place two months ago.

Thirty-seven-year-old Sarah Elizabeth Patton of Canton and 39-year-old Alicia Edna McCrummen of Akron are both charged with involuntary manslaughter, corrupting another with drugs, and aggravated trafficking in drugs. They allegedly sold the illegal substances to 40-year-old Teresa McMillen, of Louisville, who died of an overdose on Feb. 3.

“We will not tolerate deadly substances being pumped into our communities,” said Sheriff George T. Maier said in a statement. “The overdose death of Teresa McMillen is directly related to the irresponsible and illegal actions of these women.”

It is not yet known when the two will appear in court.
