JACKSON TOWNSHIP -- Authorities have released the 911 call audio after a seventh grade student shot himself inside Jackson Memorial Middle School Tuesday.

The middle and high schools were placed on lockdown Tuesday morning after a seventh grader shot himself in a bathroom just before 8 a.m.

Police have not said if the shooting was intentional. They also have not commented on his intentions, though "distractionary devices" meant to divert attention were found inside his backpack.

Investigators also searched the boy's home and removed a rifle, video game console and other items.

The student was hospitalized in an unknown condition.
