Stark County officials have arrested a man after a fatal pedestrian hit-skip.

Joe Wilds, 22, of Canton, was arrested on Tuesday for his role in a fatal hit-skip that occurred October 4.

Wilds was stopped after officials observed his 1999 Mercury Grand Marquis traveling in the wrong lane.

During the traffic stop, officers were able to closely examine damage to the vehicle. Officials found the damage to be consistent with the hit-skip.

Officers report that after talking with Wilds, he admitted to being involved in the hit-skip crash.

Wilds was issued a citation for the traffic violation, and then taken to Stark County Jail for booking on the hit-skip.

The crash remains under investigation and anyone with any information should contact the Stark County Sheriff's Office at 330-430-3800.
