UPDATE | Second of two brothers dies after Stark County single-car crash

A sad update to a story first reported, Thursday.

The second of two teens is dead after a single-car crash in Stark County's Plain Township.

16-year-old Kevin Laudermilt, was the front passenger in a crash that killed his brother i Thursday.

On Sunday, as a result of his injuries, Kevin died too.

On December 7, a 2008 Ford Crown Victoria driven by 18-year-old Aaron Laudermilt, failed to navigate a curve on Middlebranch Ave. NE and went off the road. After trying to overcorrect, the car struck a utility pole and then struck a large tree before coming to rest on the front steps of a house.

Aaron Laudermilt was pronounced dead at the scene. His passenger and younger brother, 16-year-old Kevin Laudermilt, sustained serious injuries. He was taken by EMS to Mercy Medical Center before being transported to Akron Children's Hospital where he remained until his death.

Troopers say safety belts were used by both driver and passenger.

Alcohol and drugs are not believed to have contributed to the crash, which remains under investigation.
