Unless you begin unearthing what is in a historic cemetery, how else can you learn what is located where at the site?
University of Akron archeology students and Green High School students used cutting-edge technology Saturday, including drones, magnetic gradiometers and electrical resistivity meters to see what is under Green's Klinefelter Cemetery.
Klinefelter Cemetery, which dates back to the 19th century, is a landmark in Green.
University of Akron professor Dr. Tim Matney oversaw the project that allowed the identification and location of burial pits and metal artifacts, like coffin nails and other hardware.
At the end of the project, the students will decide whether it is appropriate to eventually install a fence and sign marking the site for potential visitors.
