Dog owner pushes for new law after alleged dog abuse video goes viral

The petition already has over 200 signatures as of Tuesday

This video of what some are calling abuse at a dog care facility in Tallmadge has led to a new push for what's been dubbed "Leo's Law".

Mike Lasalvia was out of town in Mexico, last week and decided to board his dog at Waggin R Tails, a dog daycare in Tallmadge.

Lasalvia was shocked by what he saw on the remote feed, after not seeing his dog most of the day.

The video, that has gone viral, shows Tails R Waggin' owner, Amy Beach allegedly step on the dogs head, drag him across the room and kick him as she put the dog in a separate room.

Lasalvia says what makes it worse is he doesn't know what happened after they left the room, where there weren't any cameras.

Those reasons are why Mike and his family is pushing for Leo's law.

Leo's Law would require that dog care facilities have cameras in every room that the dog can go into. So no matter what, even when they leave, owners are confident they know exactly what's going on.

Mike says if your dog's gonna be in a room you should be able to view it. There's no reason why there shouldn't be cameras in every room.

The petition had nearly 500 signatures as of Tuesday and they're hoping many more people support it.
