Summit Metro Parks confirms black bear paw print sighting

According to ODNR, most black bears range in size from 100 to 400 pounds, are 5 to 6 feet in length and average 3 feet high at the shoulder.

Summit County Metro Park officials confirm that paw prints found in the snow, Monday, belong to a black bear.

A visitor at the Summit County Metro Park spotted paw prints in the snow and wanted to know what kind of animal created them.

The Metro Parks posted the photo of the paw prints on Facebook and identified the prints as belonging to a black bear.

According to Ohio's Department of Natural Resources, Ohio's black bear population is estimated to be around 50-100 individual bears.
