Ticket holders for Cleveland Orchestra's Harry Potter concert denied entry at Blossom Music Center Saturday night: How to get a refund

'To our August 20 Harry Potter Blossom ticket holders, we apologize to those who were turned away at Blossom.'

CUYAHOGA FALLS, Ohio — Many ticket holders are frustrated after being denied entry to the Cleveland Orchestra's Harry Potter concert.

The Cleveland Orchestra delayed its "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets" show on Saturday night due to inclement weather. According to the orchestra, the concert occurred after a delay, but only for "those who were able to safely make their way to the Pavilion prior to the severe weather threat which began around 6 p.m."

Ticket holders who had not entered the pavilion prior to 6:30 p.m. were denied entry.

"We were concerned about the danger of people being out in the open in the Blossom parking lots and grounds and the threat of lightning throughout the evening," orchestra officials wrote. "We allowed people into the pavilion who had been on the grounds when they opened at 4:30."

Some concerts goers were also erroneously told that the show was canceled.

"For those who are frustrated that the Summit County Sheriff told you that the August 20 concert was canceled, this was our mistake in communicating to them," the orchestra said on its website. "We apologize for poor communication."

The Cleveland Orchestra released a separate statement to 3News apologizing to ticket holders for the incident:

"To our August 20 Harry Potter Blossom ticket holders, we apologize to those who were turned away at Blossom. We made this decision for safety, due to severe weather with the threat of lightning throughout the evening and the risk given the open and exposed areas of the Blossom parking lots and grounds."

Ticket holders from last night can request a ticket exchange or refund by emailing boxoffice@clevelandorchestra.com with "exchange" or "refund"  in the email subject line. The Cleveland Orchestra is set to play another Harry Potter show Sunday night at Blossom.

Officials confirmed tonight's performance will take place, even with rain. If there is severe weather or threats with lighting, the concert will be on hold until the threat passes.

Guests attending tonight's performance are also encouraged to sign up to receive text updates by texting BLOSSOM to (844) 955-4377.
