U.S. Marshals caught a man wanted in an Ashtabula armed robbery hiding in a Cleveland home.

About 9:30 a.m. Friday, the U.S. Marshal’s Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested Aaron Harmon, 27, who was wanted by the U.S. Marshals Service and the Ashtabula Police Department for an armed robbery that occurred Oct. 22 in the parking lot of a local business in Ashtabula.

It was Nov. 2 when Ashtabula Police asked the NOVFTF to help locate and arrest Harmon.

According to the news release, it is alleged that Harmon and three others pulled out guns and robbed patrons leaving the Ashtabula business. During the robbery, gunfire erupted and Harmon was struck in the ankle.

During the investigation, it was learned that Harmon was hiding in a house near the 700 block of Beman Avenue in Cleveland.

Police surrounded the residence and ultimately located Harmon hiding in an interior room. Officers attempted to call Harmon out to surrender but he refused and chose to hide within the residence, according to the news release.

After his arrest, Harmon was taken to the Ashtabula Police Department.

In the news release, U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott added, “This was a very violent criminal that was going around robbing citizens at gunpoint. Removing him from society was a top priority before this criminal could victimize another innocent person. ”
