Akron Police Department warn of robocall voter scam attempts

People who receive a voter scam call should contact the Akron Police Department.

AKRON, Ohio — The Akron Police Department has issued a warning to the public of a scam that has been reported throughout the state today.

According to the department's Facebook page, citizens have reportedly been receiving robocalls advising them that lines at the polls are "extremely long and that they should hold off voting until tomorrow."

The Akron Police Department would like you to know that this information is false, as today is the last day for voters to vote in person. The polls will be open until 7:30 p.m. this evening.

Anyone who receives a call similar to the scam is encouraged to call the Akron Police Department at (330) 375-2181.
