LAKEWOOD -- One man is dead and his girlfriend remains in the hospital after a shooting incident early Friday.
Police responded to Olivewood Avenue near Detroit Road just before 2:30 a.m. and found the man dead. Another woman, identified as his girlfriend, was shot in the head.
The 21-year-old woman was taken to MetroHealth, where she was admitted to the ICU.
Officers found the 23-year-old man dead with a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head in a neighboring back yard.
The man's father called 911 to report the shooting. In that call, he told dispatch his son shot his girlfriend and fled the home.
