Lake County-- Drivers along I-90 East may notice some changes during their commute tonight in the aftermath of two major pile-ups. Lighted construction barrels between State Route 86 and Paine Road are the latest in a series of improvements ODOT crews are making to improve safety.

Travelers will also encounter two new speed trailers, three portable message signs and four additional speed limit signs placed along the stretch earlier this week. Even though drivers say they appreciate the new changes, they still have their concerns. With construction still underway, cars running off the road and accidents continue to be a common sight.

After today's latest safety improvements, drivers are hopeful the number of driving incidents will go down, especially with the winter weather that's on its way. There has also been an increased presence from the Ohio State Highway Patrol to ensure drivers respect the 55 mph construction zone.
