Trump is visiting Cleveland Saturday, where he plans to make a campaign stop at the I-X Center.

Trump told WKYC he would "certainly" consider Ohio Gov. John Kasich as a potential running mate if he receives the nomination. He also said Kasich will have to step up if he wants to win the presidential nomination himself.

"He's got to start working quickly, because he's way, way down," Trump said. "He hasn't won anything. He's bottom of the barrel right now."

As the Ohio primary approaches, Trump said it will come down to him versus Kasich.

"We'll see what happens," he said. "I'm going to bring jobs and military protection as a whole."

Trump also noted the importance of creating jobs in Ohio.

"We have to bring jobs back to Ohio," he said, "We have to bring better jobs because a lot of people leave. ...We're going to bring jobs back to the country, essentially."
