HUNTSBURG, Ohio -- A 13-year-old boy was taken to the hospital after his Amish cart was rear-ended by a Jeep Sunday.

Both vehicles were headed in the same direction near 16940 Chardon-Windsor Road. That's where the driver of the Jeep rear-ended the teen in his homemade horse-drawn Amish cart.

Highway Patrol officers say both vehicles went off the right side of the road. The boy was ejected.

The 13-year-old was taken to Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital by LifeFlight. His condition is unknown at the time. The driver of the Jeep was uninjured.

The driver of the Jeep remained on scene and was cooperative with investigators. Alcohol and speed are not believed to be a factor in the crash.

The incident remains under investigation.
