Akron to have 36-hour emergency snow parking ban starting Friday morning

Akron's parking ban will be for residential city streets from 8:00 a.m Friday until 8:00 p.m. Saturday night.

Due to the large accumulations of snow, there will be a 36-hour snow emergency parking ban for all residential streets in the city of Akron from 8:00 a.m. Friday morning through 8:00 p.m. Saturday night.

The city of Cleveland lifted an emergency snow parking ban that became effective at 7 a.m. Thursday. Other communities including Parma and Brooklyn have also lifted their snow parking bans.

When an emergency snow parking ban is in effect, no vehicles can be parked on city streets with red and white posted signs until further notice. Parking is prohibited on designated snow emergency streets, which are necessary for transportation, movement of food and fuel supplies, medical care, fire, health and police.
