An impressive 48-3 win over Michigan State last Saturday has propelled Ohio State up four spots to 9th in this week's College Football Playoff rankings.

The Buckeyes still have an outside shot at being one of the four teams to play for the national title, but will continue to need some help along the way.

The top 10 rankings:

1. Alabama (10-0)

2. Clemson (9-1)

3. Miami (9-0)

4. Oklahoma (9-1)

5. Wisconsin (10-0)

6. Auburn (8-2)

7. Georgia (9-1)

8. Notre Dame (8-2)

9. Ohio State (8-2)

10. Penn State (8-2)

With a win over Illinois this weekend, the Buckeyes would clinch a share of the Big Ten East title. Ohio State, however, would still need to beat Michigan to secure its spot in the Big Ten Championship Game -- and potentially, the College Football Playoff -- assuming Penn State wins each of its next two games against Nebraska and Maryland.

In the event the Nittany Lions do drop a game and Michigan knocks off undefeated Wisconsin this weekend, then a spot in the conference title game could be up for grabs between the Buckeyes and Wolverines in Ann Arbor.

It should be a fun November for Buckeye fans!
