"It really hit me;" Jim Donovan discusses Browns' playoff slot during appearance on "Dan Patrick Show"

"The voice of the Browns" expressed his excitement over the end of the 18-year dry spell from the playoffs.

CLEVELAND — "The voice of the Browns" is excited about the 2021 NFL playoffs, which for the first time in 18-years, includes Cleveland.

During an appearance on the "Dan Patrick Show," Cleveland Browns' commentator and 3News' own Jim Donovan expressed his feelings over the end of a nearly-20-year drought for the team.

"Eighteen long years with a lot of twists and turns in there," Donovan said of finally getting to announce that the Cleveland Browns had made it to the NFL playoffs.

While the mood in Northeast Ohio has been generally categorized as "electric" following the Sunday win against the Pittsburgh Steelers, Patrick asked Donovan how he thinks Browns' fans would have taken a loss.

"It would have been devastating," Donovan said. "If it had gone the other way, it would have been devastating."

The play-by-play commentator also discussed what it finally took for the Browns to get back to who they are, and what it felt like watching the team struggles over the years.
