For many fans, today is a day that officially marks the start of baseball season.

The Indians' equipment trucks officially left Progressive Field Thursday bound for Goodyear, Arizona, where the team will begin spring training later this month.

The two 18-wheelers are fully-loaded with bat bags, helmets, baseballs, uniforms, ans thousands of water bottles in preparation for the scorching-hot climate. They are expected to arrive in Goodyear early next week.

Spring training for the Tribe begins on Valentine's Day when pitchers and catchers report, followed by the Cactus League opener nine days later against the Cincinnati Reds. The regular season will get going on March 29 on the road against the Seattle Mariners.
