Cleveland Indians outfielder Abraham Almonte will miss another three to five weeks with a bicep strain, the team announced Wednesday.
Almonte underwent an MRI and was re-evaluated Tuesday. That exam revealed a high-grade strain to Almonte's right biceps tendon.
Almonte will be shut down from all activity. He has hit .221 with a .337 SLG and .660 OPS through 33 games this season.
As a result, top outfield prospect Bradley Zimmer was called up yesterday.
