The Indians said goodbye to one of their longest tenured players on Friday, with multiple reports indicating first baseman Carlos Santana will be leaving Cleveland to sign a three-year, $60 million deal with the Philadelphia Phillies.

While it may not be as devastating as when another Tribe first baseman took his talents to the City of Brotherly Love (see Thome, Jim), the departure of the patient hitting and slick fielding Santana can only hurt the club's chances of contending for a championship, unless they somehow adequately fill the void.

Tribe fans on our various social media platforms sounded off on the move today. Most were upset to see Santana go, but many felt he wasn't even worth the price the Phillies were willing to pay.
