The Cleveland Cavaliers have announced that guard Iman Shumpert will be out for 6-8 weeks after undergoing successful arthroscopic knee surgery on Friday.

The surgery was performed by team physicians Dr. Richard Parker and Dr. James Rosneck at Cleveland Clinic Sports Health. Shumpert had been dealing with left knee effusion that had caused him to miss four of the last five games.

The 27-year-old Shumpert is averaging 4.8 points and 3.1 rebounds per game this season.
