Cleveland Cavaliers trade Dwyane Wade to Miami Heat at NBA trade deadline | REPORT

Wade spent the first 13 seasons of his NBA career in Miami.

CLEVELAND -- Dwyane Wade's brief Cleveland career has reportedly come to a close. According to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports, the Cavs have traded the veteran shooting guard to the Miami Heat, the same team he spent the first 13 years of his NBA career with.

According to Wojnarowski, the Cavs will receive a heavily protected second-round pick from Miami in the deal.

A 12-time All-Star, Wade signed with Cleveland last September after agreeing to a buyout with the Chicago Bulls. After initially beginning his Cavs tenure as a starter, the 3-time NBA champion moved to a reserve role and averaged 11.2 points, 3.9 rebounds and 3.2 assists in 23.2 minutes over the course of 46 games.

But while Wade was one of the leaders in the Cavs locker room -- and a longtime close friend of LeBron James' -- the team's influx of young talent at the trade deadline left Cleveland's rotation in flux. In addition to sending Wade to Miami, the Cavs acquired guard George Hill from the Sacramento Kings, as well as Jordan Clarkson from the Los Angeles Lakers.

The Cavs have been the most active team in the league as the NBA's trade deadline approaches at 3 p.m. ET on Thursday, having agreed to no fewer than three deals. In addition to sending Wade back to Miami, the Cavs traded Isaiah Thomas, Channing Frye and a protected 2018 first-round pick to the Lakers in exchange for Clarkson and Larry Nance Jr.

The Cavs also pulled off a three-team megadeal with the Utah Jazz and Sacramento Kings, which saw Cleveland acquire Hill and Rodney Hood, while sending out Jae Crowder, Derrick Rose and Iman Shumpert.
