CLEVELAND -- From a health standpoint, the Cleveland Cavaliers can't seem to catch a break. On the same night that forward Kevin Love returned from concussion protocol, point guard George Hill left the third quarter of the Cavs' matchup with the New Orleans Pelicans with an apparent lower-body injury.

According to ESPN sideline reporter Adam Schefter, Hill suffered a left ankle injury and will not return to Friday night's game. He will be re-evaluated on Saturday.

Hill hobbled off the court and was clearly in pain, before heading off to the Cavs' locker room under his own power. In 22 minutes of action, the veteran point guard had scored 8 points on 4-of-7 shooting in a game in which Cleveland trailed the Pelicans by 10 points at halftime.

Since being acquired from the Sacramento Kings at the NBA trade deadline last month, Hill has appeared in 21 games for the Cavs, starting in each of them. He has averaged 10.0 points and 3.0 assists in 29.4 minutes of action in his brief Cleveland career.
