New-look Cleveland Cavaliers fall to Washington Wizards 110-103

The loss snaps the Cavs' four-game winning streak.

CLEVELAND -- Post-NBA All-Star break homecoming was spoiled for the new-look Cleveland Cavaliers, who fell to the Washington Wizards 110-103 at Quicken Loans Arena on Thursday night.

LeBron James scored 32 points, grabbed 9 rebounds and dished out 8 assists, while Bradley Beal scored 18 for Washington, with Kelly Oubre Jr. adding 17.

What follows is a running recap of the of the contest, which snapped what had been a four-game winning streak for the Cavs.

Fourth quarter

End of game: Cavs just didn't have enough to pull it off as the Wizards close the game at the charity stripe.

59.1: Wizards 104, Cavs 101: LeBron has scored the Cavs' last 12 points to make this a one-score game.

2:14: Wizards 104, Cavs 99: A LeBron dunk just brought the Cavs within five and it looked like he should have gotten an and-1 on it. Going to take a big final two minutes for the Cavs to pull this one off.

6:12: Wizards 97, Cavs 89: Quick flurry of points after Kelly Oubre Jr. hits a tough shot puts Wizards up by 8.

7:08: Wizards 92, Cavs 89: Wizards maintaining their 3-point lead, but LeBron just checked in for Cleveland, so it's officially crunch tim.e

Third quarter

End of quarter: Wizards 82, Cavs 79: A Korver 3 had put the Cavs on top, but the Wizards closed the fourth quarter on a 4-0 run to take a 3-point lead into the fourth. Should be a fun final quarter.

2:48: The back-and-forth continuing with the Wizards now up one. The Cavs are currently relying on their bench unit, with Hood subbing in to replace LeBron for the remainder of the quarter.

6:47: Wizards 66, Cavs 64: A nice back and forth has broken out, with the Cavs currently trailing by two. LeBron (15 points, 8 assists, 7 rebounds) is already nearing a triple-double.

Second quarter

End of quarter: Wizards 57, Cavs 54: The Wizards' run continued, but a LeBron James and-1 to end the half helped the Cavs cut the lead to three.

3:30: Cavs 46, Wizards 44: Wizards make their first real run of the night with an 11-2 stretch. Bradley Beal has 10 points on the night.

6:42: Cavs 42, Wizards 33: Cavs continue to maintain momentum, even with LeBron on the bench. Jordan Clarkson already has an early 8 points off the bench.

First quarter

End of quarter: Cavs 31, Wizards 22: Cavs continue to play with energy as all four new players have already checked in. Rodney Hood just sank a 3 to stretch the Cavs lead to 8 heading into the second.

3:36: Cavs 24, Wizards 13: Cavs getting off to a hot start on both sides of the floor. LeBron James has picked up where he left off during the All-Star Game with an early 7 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists.

Pregame

Some cool news as Larry Nance Jr. just announced he'll be wearing his father's No. 22 for the Cavs beginning next week. He'll still be in 24 tonight.
