Cleveland Cavaliers beat Portland Trail Blazers 127-110 in Isaiah Thomas' debut

Isaiah Thomas scored 17 points in 19 minutes in his Cleveland Cavaliers' debut.

CLEVELAND -- The Cleveland Cavaliers beat the Portland Trail Blazers 127-110 on Tuesday night, as All-Star guard Isaiah Thomas made his Cleveland debut.

Thomas, who had previously not played for the Cavs this season after being traded by the Boston Celtics last offseason, scored 17 points in 19 minutes in his return from a hip injury.

LeBron James scored 24 points and recorded 8 assists and 6 rebounds. What follows is a running recap of the Cavs' victory in Thomas' Cleveland debut.

Fourth quarter

6:43 Cavs 107, Blazers 94: Cavs have blown this thing open with a big bench showing (41 points) and Evan Turner just fouled out for Portland. Isaiah Thomas likely done for the night after 19 minutes, having scored 16 points off the bench in his Cavs debut.

Third quarter

End of quarter: Cavs 91, Blazers 87 Isaiah Thomas up to 12 points, thanks to a 3-pointer and a pair of free throws. Dwyane Wade finds Tristan Thompson for an alley-oop in the closing seconds, giving the Cavs a four-point advantage to start the fourth.

2:23: Cavs 82, Blazers 79: Cavs continuing to overcome some tough calls, thanks in large part to the play of its frontcourt. James has 20 points, Love has 19 and Crowder with 17. Lillard continues his strong second half, now up to 22 points on 7 of 11 shooting.

5:36: Blazers 72, Cavs 70: Cavs only down two, despite Damian Lillard beginning to heat up with 17 points. Jae Crowder and Kevin Love both having nice games with 16 points apiece. It appears Isaiah Thomas is getting set to make his second half debut.

Second quarter

End of quarter: Blazers 56, Cavs 53: Cavs find themselves on the wrong end of a few questionable calls -- particularly LeBron getting called for an offensive foul, which could have gone the other way -- but remain behind just three points, thanks in large part to James' 16 points. Jae Crowder and has added 10 and Isaiah Thomas 8 to the Cavs' cause.

3:18: Blazers 51, Cavs 46: An Isaiah Thomas technical will lead to Damian Lillard free throws coming up after the timeout. McCollum up to 14 points and Evan Turner has added 10 for Portland, while LeBron James has totaled 14 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists.

9:32: Cavs 37, Blazers 32: With Thomas leading the bench unit and hitting a 3, the Cavs take a five-point advantage early in the second quarter.

First quarter

End of quarter: Cavs 28, Blazers 28: Thomas scores his first points as a Cavalier on a pull-up jumper and proceeds to add an and-1 layup, helping his new team even the score by the end of the first quarter.

2:50: Blazers 26, Cavs 21 Isaiah Thomas receives a standing ovation as he enters the game for the first time and quickly finds former Celtics teammate Jae Crowder for an early assist.

6:37: Blazers 15, Cavs 13: No Thomas yet, as he will come off the bench for Jose Calderon tonight. C.J. McCollum with six quick points for the Blazers.
