WATCH | Moondog throws down a dunk with assist from Cleveland Cavaliers legend Larry Nance

Nance's son, Larry Nance Jr., is making his home debut with the Cavs.

CLEVELAND -- In more ways than one, the Cleveland Cavaliers' Thursday night matchup with the Washington Wizards has the vibe of a homecoming. In addition to it being the team's first game back after the NBA All-Star break, Akron native Larry Nance Jr. is making his home debut after being traded to the Cavs at the NBA trade deadline two weeks ago.

In order to commemorate the occasion, Nance Jr.'s father and Cavaliers great Larry Nance took the court during a second-quarter timeout. It was there that the 3-time All-Star assisted the Cavs' mascot, Moondog -- who was wearing a Nance Jr. jersey -- on a dunk, although the Cavs' canine of choice missed his first attempt.

It wasn't the first time someone wearing a Nance Jr. jersey rocked one of the rims at Quicken Loans Arena on Thursday night. In just one quarter alone, the actual Nance Jr. threw down two dunks in his debut in front of his hometown fans.

With his son now a member of his former team, expect the elder Nance to be a fixture around The Q -- both literally and figuratively. On Thursday, the younger Nance revealed that starting next week, he'll wear his father's No. 22 jersey with the Cavs, although it will officially remain retired by the team.
