Cleveland State advanced to the Horizon League Championship Game on the strength of a come-from-behind 71-65 win over Milwaukee in the conference semifinals Monday evening in Indianapolis.

The Vikings are now just one win away from their first trip to the NCAA Tournament since 2009. They will face Oakland in the Horizon League Championship Game on Tuesday night at Indiana Farmers Coliseum. Tip off is slated for 7 p.m.

Tre Gomillion led three Vikings in double figures with 16 points. Torey Patton added 14 points and pulled down 13 rebounds. With the win, Cleveland State improves to 18-7 on the season.

After getting out to a 14-6 lead to start the game, the Vikings were cold for most of the rest of the first half. Milwaukee went on a 19-2 run and led 25-16 with 3:33 to play before halftime. Cleveland State was able to contain some of the damage thanks to a three-point basket by Craig Beaudion and a layup by Al Eichelberger and would go into the half trailing 30-24.

CSU would trail for the entire second half until Gomillion scored on a dunk and was fouled with one minute to play. His free throw completed the three-point play and put the Vikings ahead for good at 66-64.
