2021 NFL Trade Deadline: 5 targets for the Cleveland Browns

The Cleveland Browns could enter Tuesday's NFL trade deadline as one of the league's more active teams.

CLEVELAND — NFL teams have until Tuesday, Nov. 2 at 4 p.m. ET time to make their final trades of the 2021 season.

With that in mind, here are five potential players the Cleveland Browns could target ahead of the 2021 NFL Trade Deadline as they look to improve on their 4-4 record this season:

Brandin Cooks, WR, Houston Texans

Despite having more than $34 million -- or 16.28 percent of their salary cap -- committed to the position, it would be tough to argue that the Browns' wide receivers haven't underperformed this season. Be it injury or a lack of chemistry with Baker Mayfield, both Odell Beckham Jr. and Jarvis Landry have failed to live up to their high-priced contracts at the halfway point of the 2021 campaign.

The same, however, can't be said for Brandin Cooks, who has tallied 51 receptions for 585 yards and two touchdowns despite the Houston Texans' shaky quarterback play this season. While his salary -- he's due to make $13 million next season -- could be an obstacle, the 28-year-old Cooks stands out as an obvious trade target as it's hard to imagine him having a long-term future with the rebuilding Texans.

Xavien Howard, CB, Miami Dolphins

Nearly three months after agreeing to restructure his contract, the disappointing Miami Dolphins are reportedly willing to take calls on Xavien Howard ahead of Tuesday's trade deadline, according to NBC Sports' Peter King. Acquiring one of the game's premier cornerbacks could be appealing for Cleveland, especially with Denzel Ward currently sidelined for an undetermined amount of time with a hamstring injury.

Like Cooks, the 28-year-old Howard's contract -- he has three years and $37 million remaining on his deal after 2021 -- could be a concern. But it's worth noting that Ward, Greedy Williams and Greg Newsome II are all currently on rookie contracts, with the extension-eligible Ward having yet to sign a new deal.

Andre Dillard, OT, Philadelphia Eagles

After Jack Conklin suffered a dislocated elbow in the Browns' Week 8 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers, offensive tackle stands out as one of Cleveland's most obvious positions of need. After getting off to a disappointing 3-5 start, the Philadelphia Eagles are expected to take calls on a number of players, including offensive tackle Andre Dillard, who was beat out for a starting spot this past offseason.

While Dillard may not currently be a starter for the Eagles, this trade deadline could present an opportunity for the Browns to buy low on the former first-round pick. It's also worth noting that Cleveland general manager Andrew Berry was a member of Philadelphia's front office when it selected the Washington State product with the No. 22 pick two years ago.

Andy Isabella, WR, Arizona Cardinals

A former second-round pick, Andy Isabella has been the odd man out of an Arizona Cardinals wide receivers rotation that includes DeAndre Hopkins, Christian Kirk, A.J. Green and Rondale Moore. A Northeast Ohio homecoming for the Mayfield, Ohio, native could provide the Browns offense with the deep threat it currently lacks.

Cam Robinson, OT, Jacksonville Jaguars

Currently playing on a one-year franchise tag, there's reason to believe that Cam Robinson isn't a part of the Jacksonville Jaguars' plans for the future. Acquiring the former second-round pick could give Cleveland a short-term replacement for Conklin this offseason and flexibility on the offensive line in the offseason.
